Occupational Cognexity

It is not only supervisors, managers and executives whose decisions can have a significant impact on business outcomes.  Highly qualified individuals whose expertise is sought after are often responsible for making decisions that can impact upon the success of an organisation, for example, through managing safety risk or identifying financial risk. They are not necessarily leading others but they have a significant accountability within their organisation.  Understanding their current cognitive functioning capacity should be part of your organisation’s people risk management strategy.

Occupational Cognition

Keeping abreast of key staff and their cognitive capacity through regular assessment that allows year on year changes to be monitored, can provide employers with more comfort around their key employees and the decisions they make.

Key Cognitive Functions

The key cognitive functions that we test are Working Memory, Executive Function, Processing Speed, Attention and Memory Resonance. These are all areas known to decline with age.

Risk Management

Our Assessments are used by leading Insurers, Associations and Employers as their tool of choice for assessment their staff in key positions where Risk Management is critical.  A wrong decision by an Engineer, Financial Controller or Politician, for example, could be disastrous.

Strategic Advantage

With people extending their work lives and age-related cognitive decline our new reality, it’s critical that employers monitor the cognitive capacity of their people.  Assessing individuals in roles/occupations that have the potential to impact the lives of many is a way to ensure that they continue to make sound decisions.

KEY STAFF PROFESSIONAL REVIEW

Key Professional Staff are invited to complete a comprehensive assessment battery that measures the following attributes – wellbeing, emotional intelligence, motivation, personality derailers and cognitive capacity.  This program involves a combination of online assessments and face to face activities, as well as a comprehensive report and feedback session with a registered psychologist with extensive experience working with managers at all levels of an organisation.

Assessments include validated assessment tools benchmarked against relevant populations.  Individual results are also interpreted in the context of the individual’s current work and personal circumstances in a confidential setting to ensure that interventions are tailored appropriately.

Assessment time is approximately 3 hours, of which most of this is completed online.  Once these have been completed, the manager will meet with one of our experienced psychologists to complete some supervised assessments and discuss the results.  Ongoing coaching sessions are also available should the manager wish to continue discussing their development and wellbeing journey.  Re-assessment of cognitive performance is also recommended in 12-18 months’ time to track individual changes in cognitive capacity typically experienced as we age.
